Nita's Blog Nita's Blog

The beginning of the year already seemed to start at a breakneck pace. With debates and elections looming we are saturated with polls, opinions and the nasty head of smear political campaigns is reared. I wonder why it is we feel we have to tear another person down to make ourselves look better? We all need to look at this behavior and not engage it anymore. The woman, the other day with her finger in the face of the President was just deplorable!! What happened to manners, ethics and respecting the seat of Presidency? There is a blatant disregard for our President within our Congress  and other entitled ones that has never been tolerated before and it makes me really angry. People where is your HOME TRAINING?!!!

In spite of that, I live in California and we've had the most amazing weather which always puts me in a good mood. There was a sunset a couple of days ago that brought me to tears. It was purples and magentas with a hint of blue; truly breathtaking.  In that moment I sang, How Great thou art! I hope that in the midst of all that swirls around us, we can still have our breath taken away by kindness, or a starlit sky or dusky sunset, or just the wonder to see it all.  I am starting this year with an open heart and mind. There are things set into motion that go before me, and I walk a path in which I am being led. I wish for all of you great health, prosperity, dreams to dream and songs to sing.

Please watch the site for upcoming information on a book that I am writing entitled Finding My Voice: My Journey through Grief to Grace  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nita-Whitaker-LaFontaine/227990233950299?sk=info. I hope you'll want  to get a copy coming out in May!

Go and see JOYFUL NOISE with Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton. The music is wonderful written and arranged by  the brilliant Mervyn Warren.  I was a part of a 16 voice choir that sings all the choir songs in the movie. It was one of the most amazing sessions ever and I can't wait for you to hear the music we sang.  Wil Wheaton, Valerie Pinston, and Terry Wood  were just a few of the voices included in this magnificant choir.   Also I hope you will support RED WING, a movie about the Tuskeegee Airmen.

My work is focused on bringing this book to life and to all of you. I hope you will support me as I share my journey of a great love, a great man and what life has been like since he left.

 Much obliged,

 Nita
